Somewhere along the way, Pitch Black went totally under my radar. When the recent movie, The Chronicles of Riddick, came out, I had no clue about Riddick. I was shopping for a new Xbox shooter for my wife when I spotted The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. She loves first person shooters. I called her up. She had read about it in Xbox Magazine and said she'd pass. I went back to the store for something else. I kept looking at Riddick thinking she'd really love it. I called her back. She said ok.

Well, she loves it! It's now her favorite Xbox game of all time. Pretty cool. Even though the storyline of Butcher Bay takes place prior to Pitch Black, we decided to check it out for back story purposes. It was a pretty cool movie. Definitely Saturday afternoon popcorn style, but that's great. It reminded me a lot of the Alien series. It's definitely freaky when the folks think they're along and they don't realize that all the beasties are in the dark just beyond the tips of their noses.

If you've ever been afraid of the dark, you'll have a reaction to those scenes I'm sure!
